1/13/09 Jay Evans attends the 88th Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board. He serves on the Committee on Intermodal Transfer Facilities and is presiding over Session 584, Insights in Intermodal Planning.
10/15/08 Jay Evans completed work this month as Cambridge Systematics' Project Manager for the Springfield Connectivity Study. The project was a joint effort of the Fairfax County Department of Transportation and the Fairfax County Department of Planning and Zoning. PDF versions of the Final Report, including Executive Summary and Existing Conditions and Plans Report are available via the weblink.
7/25/08 Jay Evans has been promoted to Principal at Cambridge Systematics in its Washington Metropolitan Area office in Bethesda, Maryland. Jay serves as the office director and is the practice leader for the firm's Mid-Atlantic travel demand forecasting and geographic information systems practice.
5/28/08-5/30/08 Jay Evans attended the 2008 ITE District 1 / District 2 Joint Annual Meeting held in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He presented "Traveler Response to Transit-Oriented Development" at a technical session during the meeting.
3/22/08 Jay Evans developed and delivered the T-Class, "Transit-Oriented Development (TCRP Report #95, Chapter 17)" in association with the National Transit Institute.
1/16/08 Jay Evans attends the 87th Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board. He serves on the Committee on Intermodal Transfer Facilities and is presiding over Session 670, Advances in Multimodal Transfers.
8/26/07 For the TRB Specialty Conference, "Best Practices: Coordination of Transit, Regional Transportation Planning and Land Use," Jay Evans gave a presentation on "Traveler Response to Transit-Oriented Development." The conference was held in Denver, Colorado.
8/5/07-8/8/07 Jay Evans attended the 2007 ITE Annual Meeting held in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
6/21/07 Jay Evans provided a presentation on "Traveler Response to Transit-Oriented Development" to the Transit Research Analysis Committee of the National Academies. The Committee supports the project, "Transit Research and Development: Federal Role in the National Program." Project information is available via the this link.
1/21/07-1/25/07 Mr. Evans attends the 86th Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board. Mr. Evans serves on the Committee on Intermodal Transfer Facilities and is presiding over Session 484, Advances in Multimodal Coordination.
8/6/06-8/9/06 Jay Evans attended the Institute of Transportation Engineers 2006 Annual Meeting held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Presiding over a technical session he had proposed on behalf of the ITE Transportation Planning Council and the ITE Parking Council was among his personal highlights. The session, focused on issues surrounding Transit-Oriented Development and Parking, featured Todd Littman, Jeffrey Tumlin, and Randy McCourt as expert presenters. The featured speakers offered findings on relationships between parking requirements, parking management, and transit-oriented development.
5/11/06 Jay Evans delivered an overview and update on the Traveler Response Handbook, Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) Report 95, at the Institute of Transportation Engineers District 2 Regional Conference in Frederick, Maryland. The Washington DC Section website includes some photos from the conference under "Current Activities". Mr. Evans' presentation will be posted on the Jay Evans Consulting website.
4/3/06 Jay Evans' office with Cambridge Systematics has moved to Bethesda, Maryland. The new location is about two blocks from the Bethesda Metro Station.
3/20/06 Jay Evans delivered an update on the Traveler Response Handbook, Transit Cooperative Research Program (TCRP) Report 95, at the Association of Metropolitan Planning Organizations (AMPO) Travel Model Working Group Meeting held in Houston, Texas. His presentation is available on AMPO's website.
1/22/06-1/26/06 Jay Evans attends the 85th Annual Meeting of the Transportation Research Board. He serves on the Committee on Intermodal Transfer Facilities and is presiding over Session 226, Making the Connections: Integrating Intermodal Concepts.
11/28/05 Jay Evans joins Cambridge Systematics as a Senior Associate. Jay Evans is leading the travel demand forecasting and geographic information systems practice in the firm's Mid-Atlantic Region. Cambridge Systematics issued a press release in March 2006.
